New Delhi: The Central Government has released ‘Ayurveda and Yoga based National Medical Management Regulations for the management of Kovid-19. The policy, issued by Union Health Minister Harsha Vardhan, advocates the use of drugs such as Ashwagandha, Guduchi Ghana Vati or Chyavanprasha as primary prophylactic care for high-risk populations and patients.
The dose to take these drugs is listed in the protocol. It is stated in the Guidelines that these medicines should be accompanied by general and dietary measures. It is cited in the etiology that individuals with moderate to severe coronavirus infection can make an informed choice of treatment options and that all severe cases are referred to.

For preventive care (high-risk populations, primary contacts), ashwagandha (aqueous extract of Vithania somnifera ip) or its powder may be given. One should take 500mg extract or 1-3gm powder twice daily with warm water for 15 days or a month or as directed by an Ayurvedic doctor. For preventive care, a powder such as guduchi ghana vati (samani vati or giloy ghana vati with aqueous extract of Tinospora cordifolia ip) or tinospora cordifolia may be given. One should take 500mg extract or 1-3gm powder twice daily with warm water for 15 days or a month or as directed by an Ayurvedic doctor. For preventive care, chyavanprasha can be consumed once a day with 10 g of warm water or milk. The protocol states that in addition to the aforementioned au cherries, normal and dietary measures must be followed
For patients with asymptomatic COVID-19, Guduchi Ghana may present. One should take 500 mg of extract or 1-3 grams of powder twice daily with warm water for 15 days or a month or as directed by an Ayurvedic doctor.

Gooduchi and Pippali can also be taken (aqueous extracts Tinospora cardifolia IF and Piper longum IF). 375 mg twice daily with warm water for 15 days or as directed by an Ayurvedic doctor. One can even take ayush 64. One should take 500mg twice daily with warm water for 15 days or as directed by an Ayurvedic doctor. However, these drugs should be taken to prevent the progression of the disease to a symptomatic and severe form and to improve recovery rates.
Patients with mild Kovid 19 positive, have fever, headache, tiredness, dry cough, throat pain, shortness of breath or hypoxia, who may present with palpitations and pimples. 31 mg twice daily with warm water for 15 days. May also take the Ayush 64. For 15 days or as directed by an Ayurvedic physician, take 500 mg of extract or 1-3 grams of Ashwagandhapudi daily for 15 days or one month with warm water or as directed by an Ayurvedic doctor. Drink 10 g of chyavanprasha in a cup of hot water or milk once a day
